The Health Senate of the German Oral Health Foundation (DMS) has appointed eleven new senators. These senators are renowned experts in dentistry and related fields. “The senators contribute to strengthening the Health Senate and advocate for more innovation and prevention in dentistry and the oral health of patients,” said Chairman Dirk-Rolf Gieselmann during the ceremonial presentation of the appointment certificates on June 29, 2024, at Schloss Bensberg near Cologne. Whether as dentists, entrepreneurs, scientists, or advisors, the newly appointed senators are passionate about innovative dentistry that is both preventive and predictive. “Our goal is to stay ahead of disease outbreaks, for example, through the research and application of the biomarker aMMP-8,” Gieselmann explained. This approach aims to ensure early detection and treatment of dental diseases, thereby preventing serious systemic health issues.
